Design Engineer

Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join an established engineering business. In this role, you will produce high-quality 2D and 3D design work using SolidWorks, create manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials, and support the full lifecycle of engineered products. This position is ideal for someone with a background in steel fabrication and a passion for precise, innovative design.

Job Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, including steel fabrications and assemblies, using SolidWorks.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials within the company ERP system.
• Ensure all drawings and design documentation are accurate, consistent, and up to date with current revisions.
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Adhere to company procedures, quality standards, and Health & Safety regulations.

Skills Required

• Creative, innovative and able to problem-solve.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly and reliably.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
